The last few years have seen Hertfordshire’s Charli XCX emerge as one of the country’s most unabashed new pop stars.
The singer – who recently came off tour with Coldplay, and will release her debut album later this year – has no time for those who think that pop’s a dirty word, as she explained when FACT TV caught up with her before a small East London show last week. And why should she? Inventive from the start, she’s collaborated with dance producers Alex Metric and Starkey, and has enjoyed a run of singles that stars with ten times her profile would envy. Her world; we’re just living in it.
