Indians is the musical alter ego of Copenhagen’s Søren Løkke Juul.
Signing to 4AD just months after their first concert and first single (in February and April, respectively), Indians is buzz band incarnate. This summer, the band played with indie contemporaries Beirut, Bear In Heaven, Lower Dens, Retribution Gospel Choir, Savages and Weird Dreams.
As an introduction, Indians filmed a 4AD Session over one day on the privately-owned Osea Island near Essex. The various open air settings and serene aquatics suit their atmospherically-minded brand of folk, an analog-digital hybrid which is more immediate and experimental than that of labelmate Bon Iver.
The session includes first single ‘I Am Haunted,’ ‘Magic Kids,’ and ‘New.’ Indians will tour Europe and North America through the rest of the year in support of Perfume Genius, Dan Deacon, Glass Animals, and Other Lives.
