The boogie maestro enjoys his relative anonymity in ‘I Don’t Want To Be A Star!

While ‘I Don’t Want To Be A Star!’ is more exuberant than his usual boogie grooves, the song still shuffles with the revitalized (and eponymous) funk for which he’s known.

Directed by Eric Coleman, the video is a laid-back tour of Los Angeles, from the producer’s modest home studio to the city streets (in what appears to be a classic Cadillac).

The title track of his latest EP for Stones Throw, ‘I Don’t Want To Be A Star!’ will also appear on his forthcoming album Invite The Light. The 12″ maxi single is out now, backed by a cover of Prince’s ’17 Days.’ DâM-FunK is currently touring North America; dates below.
