The Philly underground fixture explores dark corners of the dance floor on his Eclipse EP.
B.YRSLF division continues to mine the cross-section of footwork, retro house, and futuristic R&B. The label returns with another free release of forward-thinking club music.
On Eclipse, Bombé (formerly Kid Queasy, aka Philadelphia’s Tim Shaw) fuses nighttime ambience, haunting melodies, and — most notably — loads of tribal percussion. The title track and ‘Solomon’s Son’ are all kinetic intensity, but the swirling, breezy ‘Rooms’ is the outlier.
Stream the EP below, or download it for free via B.YRSLF’s Bandcamp. The tracklist follows.
