Sammy Bananas has established his party-starting credentials as part of cover song fanatics Telephoned and with his remixes of Passion Pit, Kid Cudi and Chromeo. On this self-described “bootleg” of Miguel’s ‘Adorn,’ his production skills have never been more evident.

‘Adorn’ is a quiet storm throwback from the California R&B aficionado, and the lead track on his upcoming album Kaleidoscope Dream. On his remix, Sammy Bananas sharpens the groove with a moombahton-inflected shuffle, but the most significant development is the vibraphone-and-synthesizer breakdown that amplifies Miguel’s lovesick vocals.
