Two behemoths of 1990s hip-hop are set to hit the road together.

Nas is currently enjoying his best press in years off the back of his spirited Life Is Good LP. Former Fugee Lauryn Hill, meanwhile, is faring less well: she’s currently under investigation on charges of serious tax evasion, and has recently been accused of some pretty insalubrious behaviour in Wyclef Jean’s new autobiography.

As HipHopDX report, Nas and Hill are to tour the US together in October and November. The pair have collaborated on stage before over the last few years, but the tour marks the first time they’ve gone on a full-blown joint tour. The Life Is Good/Black Rage dates include stop-offs in Dallas, Chicago and Washington, and finish up in Oakland in mid-November.

We all know where the first part of that tour name comes from, but the second? Why, a hitherto unannounced single from Hill.’Black Rage’ will arrive in the Autumn, and will be her first single since 2010’s surprise one-off release ‘Repercussions’. Details are scarce at present, but Hill does supply some oblique comment in the press bumpf accompanying the announcement:  “I use the performance platform as an opportunity to express the energy of that moment, and the intention behind it. I’ve been a long standing rebel against the stale, over commoditization. As artists we have opportunity to help the public evolve, raise consciousness and awareness, teach, heal, enlighten and inspire in ways the democratic process may not be able to touch. So we keep it moving”.
