The eternally-underrated Pursuit Grooves returns with 91 Fellows

Pursuit Groves, a.k.a. Vanese Smith, remains one of FACT’s favourite contemporary producers.

Which, to be honest, makes it a little sloppy that we missed this when it was first announced in Summer, but sometimes that’s the way it goes. Pursuit Grooves has, in the past, released on Pinch’s dubstep orphanage Tectonic (2010’s Fox Trot Mannerisms and 2011’s Frantically Hopeful) as well as her own label What Rules, and this week sees the release of a new eight-track “mini-album” titled 91 Fellows. Another installment of the itchy but warm and rounded hip-hop that Grooves does like few others can, it’s out now on vinyl via Deepblak.

You can stream two tracks from 91 Fellows, ‘Noon Sleeps’ and ‘Lion’s Lawn’, below.
