Seminal scuzz rock duo Royal Trux have announced the latest in a recent string of reissues.

Neil Hagerty and Jennifer Herrema’s scabrous alt.rock unit first got the reissue treatment back in 2010, when their first four albums (plus 1995’s Thank You) were put out by Domino. The reanimation process continues with news that 1998’s Accelerator will now get a rerelease on indie staple Drag City.

Long out of print, Accelerator was the band’s first album for Drag City following an aborted stint over at Virgin. The album was actually produced whilst Royal Trux were still with the major, but the label were allegedly only too happy to hand over the masters to Drag City. One of their most spirited releases, Accelerator sees the band’s songwriting getting stronger (see ‘The Banana Question’ and ‘Juicy Juicy Juice’) in direct proportion to their set-up getting sloppier and noisier.

Accelerator is due on October 9. [via Pitchfork]
