The latest Tempo Clash podcast contains a coup and a curveball.

The two-part session from the London-based bass crew features Danny Breaks turning in his first official mix in almost 20 years. Breaks was a crucial player in the development of drum’n’bass, helming the Droppin’ Science and, latterly, Alphabet Zoo labels. His parallel work as a slanted hip-hop producer has obviously endeared him to the Tempo Clash crew, and his set is full of dusty head-nod and weirdo beat music. Young Echo lynchpin Kahn, meanwhile, goes way off piste, interpolating The B-52s and Roxy Music into a dreamy, introspective mix.

The mixes arrive ahead of Tempo Clash’s show this Saturday with Mono/poly and Darq E Freaker. Dalston’s Birthdays will also play host to Blue Daisy, Om Unit and Kutmah for the bash; tickets and further information are available from the event Facebook page.

The Tempo Clash crew are also cooking up a major do at Bristol’s The Exchange on November 10: Kuthmah, Blue Daisy, Om Unit and Offshore are all confirmed. For further details, head here.
