Here’s a family affair for you: real-life sisters TEEN have been remixed by real-life couple Peaking Lights.

Led by one-time Here We Go Magic keyboardist Kristina Lieberson, TEEN – also featuring her sisters Katherine and Lizzie – made their grand debut with last month’s In Limbo. Their voguish synth-pop is achingly, wincingly hip – but beneath the posturing, there are a good haul of scuzz-specked gems to enjoy.

Dreamy studio/life couple Peaking Lights have given In Limbo cut ‘Sleep Is Noise’ the remix treatment, and their revision is an oddly funky reinterpretation. Peaking Lights and Basic Channel aren’t often mentioned in the same sentence, but this dubby, aqueous exercise in repetition-as-redemption suggests a shared modus operandi. It’s on a very different tip to the bulk of recent album Lucifer, and is well worth your time, particularly if said record’s unapologetic navel-gazing left you cold.
