Over a year after its initial release, Abel Tesfaye has unveiled an unfussy new video for Thursday highlight ‘Rolling Stone’.

Unlike last year’s ultra-bombasticThe Knowing’ clip, the self-directed video features Tesfaye singing straight into the camera without ornament or flourish. After all the smoke and mirrors of yore, the clip arguably represents the apotheosis of the progressive process of unmasking Tesfaye has undergone over the course of the last year. Peep below to watch.

The (rather impressive) artwork for Trilogy has also been unveiled, and has evidently been taken from the same sessions as the ‘Rolling Stone’ video.

Trilogy, the result of a temporary “strategic partnership” with Republic Records, will collect all three of Tesfaye’s classic mixtapes from last year (House Of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes Of Silence), plus a clutch of new material. Trilogy will drop on November 13. [via Consequence Of Sound]
