Hercules & Love Affair regular Kim Ann Foxman has been devoting time to her extra-curricular solo gig.

Foxman first caught attention in her own right with 2010’s superb ‘Creature’, a good-time house jam which shared a sensibility (not to mention a visual aesthetic) with Azari & III. She’s since collaborated with KiNK and Neville Watson, remixed Max Essa, and made a prominent appearance on H&LA’s sophomore record Blue Songs.

New EP Return It drops next week on Needwant, and sees Foxman continuing to mine the same retro territory as ‘Creature’. The title track is a dreamy house cut, overlaying a classic Chicago groove with a cutesy synth line that could have come straight off of Orbital 2. Flip ‘Hypnotic Dance’, meanwhile, is a TR-606 workout with a needling vocal hook. Remixes are also supplied by Brooklyn duo Populette and Berlin regular Steffi. Head over to Dazed to listen.
