LCD Soundsystem documented in photo book

We just can’t quit you: another chance to experience the career of James Murphy’s disco-punk heavyweights.

Photographer Ruvan Wijesooriya spent time with LCD Soundsystem from 2004 until their choreographed finale last year. His work comprises the majority of the 216-page hardcover titled simply LCD. The vast majority of the photos have never been shown before.

LCD includes photos shot in Hyde Park in London, various New York institutions, Coachella, Rick Rubin’s recording mansion in the Hollywood Hills, Way Out West festival in Sweden, Miami Art Basel and more. In addition, the book features various album art and original interviews with the band, and is designed by James Timmins, art director of Dossier magazine.

“All of Ruvan’s pictures remind me of that feeling: that you’re geographically fucked, and its all happening right now, somewhere else, without you,” says Murphy in a statement. “There’s an enormous amount of intimacy in them, and promise, and intrusion…”

The book is available for a $29.95 pre-order via publisher powerHouse Books.
