Jack Dixon is on the ascent, and he’s now plotted another point on his upward trajectory.

Since debuting with the strobing ‘Substitute’ for Silverback in late 2010, Dixon’s gone from strength to strength. Last year’s ‘Somebody Said They Saw You’ for Formant was an effective swung house cut on a Pangaea tip. His lovely 2012 single ‘You Won’t Love Me’, meanwhile, was succour to the soul, and ended up being one of the first releases to appear on the revived Apollo imprint.

Dixon’s only just dropped the supple ‘E’/’Find Shelter’ 12″ for Hotflush, but he’s already got his next release etched into the diary. Nottingham label Leftroom – already responsible for releases from Huxley and Maceo Plex this year – will play host to the four-track 10997 EP.

As sample snippets (available below) of the disc suggest, Dixon’s still very much in the business of producing lucent, immersive house music. In what may or may not be the result of a covert sponsorship deal with Sony, each of the tracks is named after one of the button on the PlayStation controller. [via XLR8R]

10997 will arrive on November 27.
