The MiniMoog Voyager has just turned 10, and, to celebrate, the legendary synth-makers have cobbled together an absurdly opulent special edition.

In a self-styled “testament to American craftsmanship”, Moog has issued a highly limited collection of 24 carat gold Voyagers. The machine boasts pearl sidepieces, high gloss black piano lacquer, custom translucent knobs and a personally engraved gold plate. The aureate synth was premiered during Miike Snow’s set at Moogfest 2012.

31 synths have been produced, one of which will be given away later this month via the Moog site. The other 30 will be made available to buy, priced at a winceworthy $15,000. [via HipHopDX]
