Grime devotees Shiftee and Badman Shark announce 'EKG Riddim', share punishing mix

The single features remixes by partners-in-grime Jakes, Spooky, Mr. Mitch and J Beatz.

‘EKG Riddim’ is a collaboration between two-time DMC champ DJ/Producer Shiftee and vocalist/co-producer Badman Shark. The track is a menacing, violent grime instrumental that mines the more aggressive edges of industrial dubstep for something that is equally appropriate for either headbanging or dancing. Pneumatic percussion is joined by an ominous ambience that is punctuated by what sounds like a B-movie-ish “time to die!” sample.

Out November 26 on Starkey’s Slit Jockey imprint, the single is backed by remixes by Jakes, Spooky, Mr. Mitch and J Beatz. In advance of the release, the pair present Time To Die, mixing nearly 50 tracks from low-end purveyors like Rinse, Trouble and Bass, and Mishka.
