Leee Black Childers exhibition

An exhibition of photography by Leee Black Childers, presented by The Vinyl Factory in conjunction with The Society Club, opens in London tonight.

Drag Queens, Rent Boys, Pick Pockets, Junkies, Rockstars and Punks opens at The Vinyl Factory Chelsea gallery with a private view on Wednesday 5 December; it coincides with the publication of a book of the same title. Iconic photographer Leee Black Childers chronicled the high life and lowlife of New York in the 1960s and 1970s, and his book features never-before-seen photos of Debbie Harry, Jackie Curtis and Iggy Pop. Other famous subjects included in the book and exhibition include Wayne Country, Cherry Vanilla, Andy Warhol, Candy Darling, The Sex Pistols, David Bowie and Robert Mapplethorpe, captured at The Factory, Max’s Kansas City, the Chelsea Hotel and other bohemian landmarks.

The book has been printed in a limited edition of 1000 copies, with 200 deluxe editions available exclusively through The Vinyl Factory and The Society Club. More information here.
