The Class of 2013 has been announced.
Along with the political rap pioneers, this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees include prog-gods Rush, bluesman Albert King, disco queen Donna Summer, sisterly rockers Heart, and songwriter Randy Newman. Producers Quincy Jones and Lou Adler received the non-performer Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Left off the list: Kraftwerk, N.W.A., Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, The Meters, Chic, and The Marvelettes and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. The induction ceremony will be broadcast on HBO on May 18 at 9pm.
