There’s not exactly any shortage of DJs traversing the hip-hop/dubstep/house spectrum, but Rinse DJ Alexander Nut has long been one of the classiest.

Nut’s a damn near Rinse institution – a consistent presence on the airwaves for half a decade, and the man responsible for 2009’s Rinse 08 session, still one of their most satisfying mix releases to date. He also runs Eglo Recordings with Floating Points, with whom he’s shepherded fine releases from FunkinEven and ARP 101 over the years. He’s also more happy than most to tilt towards soul, boom-bap and fusion music, and his sets often have a rootsy dimension that contemporaries shy away from.

In the last week, Nut’s got his Soundcloud account into shape, and it’s now full of great mixes from the last four years. Among the haul: a 2-step heavy Rinse mix from Jamie xx from 2011;  a blissful Teebs set from way back in 2010; a 2011 b2b with Floating Points; and an essential disco/soul session from Andrés, originally aired last year.

Other guest sets come from Eglo regulars Fatima and Dego. Nut, it ought to be said, is also a brilliant DJ, forging a precarious path across genres, but making it all look rather effortless. Vintage Nut sets available to listen to include a 2009 LuckyMe session, a neat all-vinyl sesh for Rinse from last year, and (blush) his 2009 FACT mix.

Head over to his Soundcloud to survey what’s on offer; the Jamie xx mix is below.
