Scottish up-and-comer Lockah announces Only Built 4 Neon Nites EP; stream a new track

His latest effort is due out March 18 via Brighton maximalists Donky Pitch.

The Aberdeen producer follows his Please Lockah, Don’t Hurt ‘Em EP with a collection of “conceptual driving music” that is synth-driven, hip-hop obsessed. The latter point is a given, considering the Raekwon-referencing title Only Built 4 Neon Nites.

Donky Pitch‘s first release of 2013 is “made for listening from front to back, a musical journey through late night cityscapes,” according to press materials. The artist and label are a natural pairing, considering the widescreen releases the latter has released in just the last two years.

Stream ‘Let The Cool Air Breeze’ below, ripped from Skream & Benga’s BBC Radio 1 show. The track is followed by the EP’s tracklisting and donkey-meets-Porsche covert art.

Only Built 4 Neon Nites:
1. Intro
2. Young Neon Countach
3. Guards Red Carrera
4. Let The Cool Air Breeze
5. Platinum Blonde
