Madonna collaborator Jacques Lu Cont returns with new single, new name and new album: stream 'Click Track' inside

British producer Jacques Lu Cont will return this year under a new name, Tracques.

Sometimes known as The Thin White Duke, Lu Cont is best known for his work on Madonna’s album Confessions on a Dance Floor, though the Reading-born artist has also worked with Missy Elliot, New Order, Kylie Minogue and The Pet Shop Boys, contributed an early mix to London club Fabric’s CD series, and released several albums with his band Zoot Woman. And let’s not forget that classic remix of Gwen Stefani, which still sounds great today.

Lu Cont’s first single as Tracques, simply titled ‘Click Track’, plays on the idea of the metronome and slavery to Logic Pro’s grid, and comes described as “the tables [being] turned on the computer’s ruthless time-keeper. One for the warehouses, wave after wave of builds, drops and percussion dip in and out over the course of the four minute track, The clicks that traditionally mark each beat per minute are used here deliberately out of time, slipping back into the groove only when deemed fit.”

‘Click Track’ will be released on Lu Cont’s own Tracques Records label, with an album finished and due for release in “early 2013” (tracklist below), and another Tracques single scheduled in for release with Boyz Noize. Stream ‘Click Track’ here:
