Todd Terje’s chirpy disco-jam ‘Inspector Norse’ was one of 2012’s most ubiquitous house tracks.

As if to underline its impact, Norwegian director Kristoffer Borgli  has dedicated an entire short film to Terje’s starry-eyed triumph. ‘Whateverest’ follows the hapless “Inspector Norse”, aka rustic oaf Marius Solem Johansen, who wiles away his meagre small-time existence getting zonked on homemade drugs and dancing in unlikely environments.

Terje himself makes an appearance, explaining how “Norse” became his muse for the track. The character will be familiar from the original ‘Inspector Norse’ official clip, which featured scenes from the full film. Winner of the Special Jury Award at AFI Fest 2012, it’s extremely well done – part music video, part movie, and well worth a watch for anyone that spent time swooning to the track in 2012.
