Soul Jazz announce Acid: Mysterons Invade The Jackin' Zone compilation

Soul Jazz highlights Chicago’s acid and experimental house from 1986-1993.

The UK label has compiled tracks by Larry Heard (under his Mr. Fingers alias), Farley “Jackmaster” Funk, Mr K-Alexi, Adonis, and Phuture, the group whose ‘Acid Trax’ gave the genre its name.

Soul Jazz has digitally remastered all of the tracks, and the compilation is bundled with stickers, postcards, and a graphic novel by Italian artist Paolo Parisi that tells the story of Chicago house.

Acid – Mysterons Invade The Jackin’ Zone: Chicago Acid and Experimental House 1986-1993 will be released both on heavyweight 180g vinyl and as a double CD set. The set is due out on April 8. This seems like a good as time as any to revisit FACT’s 20 best acid house records feature. [via Resident Advisor]
