Jeff Mills to explore "history of Ufology" at Vauxhall's Fire

On Sunday March 31, Vauxhall’s Fire will play host to a striking “conceptual performance” from Detroit legend Jeff Mills.

From orchestral team-ups to sci-fi beat suites, Mills is no stranger to a high-concept performance. His latest, performed for the first time in the UK at the behest of promoters LOST, promises to be one of his most out-there to date. Something In The Sky is an audiovisual show dedicated to the “history of Ufology”; cobbled together from pre-recorded interviews, UFO footage and snippets of TV recordings, it’s part concert, part educational installation.

The support is also pretty stellar (sorry). Basic Channel’s Moritz Von Oswald will perform an exclusive UK show, and can be expected to offer a powerful, precise exercise in minimal techno. Warp mainstays Plaid, meanwhile, will offer their rich and playful synthesis of 1990s club music and IDM. Steve Bicknell and Mario round out one of the more curious bills we’ve seen this year.

The night will run from 10.00pm until 6.00am. Head here for tickets and further information.
