Dan Deacon to remix The Flaming Lips' The Terror in its entirety

Electronic maverick Dan Deacon is set to have his wicked way with The Flaming Lips’ The Terror.

As The Future Heart point out, the band are due to put out a deluxe vinyl edition of their forthcoming thirteenth studio album. According to the tracklisting, the record will come supplemented with a lengthy remix by Deacon. The side-long edit is titled ‘We Don’t Control The Controls (Mashed-The-F-Up-Remix)’, and sees the Baltimore producer condense, deconstruct and reassemble The Terror in its entirety. Head here to pre-order the set.

In related news, those hoping to be gripped by The Terror will now have to wait a little longer. The album’s April 2 release date has been pushed back by a fortnight, with The Terror now due on April 16 through Warner Bros/Bella Union.

The Flaming Lips will reissue 1997 album/headfuck Zaireeka on vinyl in honour of Record Store Day on April 20. The band and an assortment of friends are also currently working on a track-by-track cover of The Stone Roses’ self-titled debut album.
