Peter Murphy says tour will go on, pleads not guilty to all charges

Charges against the former Bauhaus frontman have been downgraded.

As previously reported, Murphy was detained over the weekend on hit-and-run, DUI, and drug possession charges. Originally, he was held on $500,000 bail and identified as a flight risk.

A message on his Facebook page claims that not only will Murphy’s Bauhaus-only world tour will proceed as planned, but that “all charges that were originally filled as felonies were lowered to misdemeanours and Peter was released with with no bail or restrictions… Even on the lower charges Peter has pleased not guilty.”

In a follow-up post, Murphy’s representation says that his blood alcohol level was 0.01, “way under” the 0.08 legal limit (obviously, meth does not register on a breathalyzer, so there’s always that). “We cannot say anything more right now as after pleading NOT guilty to all charges Peter now must say no more until this matter is resolved,” the message continues.
