Premiere: Simian Mobile Disco offer an exclusive taster of their forthcoming live album

Simian Mobile Disco are about to release their first major live record on their own Delicacies label.

Live features 15 tracks from across the pair’s career, with cuts ranging from early singles through to material from 2012’s Unpatterns. The album was recorded in Philadelphia last year, and will present their set in its entirety without any studio trickery or after-the-fact tinkering.

By way of a preview, the pair have put together a special edit of ‘Wooden’ taken from their 2007 debut Attack Decay Sustain Release. This version was recorded in the pair’s studio with the same live set-up the band would normally use on stage. It’s a fluttering techno track, in hock to Computer World-era Kraftwerk and drunk on whatever moonshine Border Community spend their time gassed up on.

Live is due on April 15 on Delicacies.
