Purple innovator Joker is back in April with The Face Off EP, and we’ve got a taste of it right here.

Last year’s startlingly heavy ‘Old Era‘ marked a return to form for the Bristol-based producer, and ‘Newham Generals’ follows on from that perfectly with a brash explosion of neon synths and mercilessly crushed beats. It’s one of the most unashamedly raw tunes Joker’s done for a while now, and harks back to the Kapsize days of old with its videogame melodies and US rap-influenced crawl. This ain’t trap though- it’s purple through and through, just with a puff of smoke and an unsurpassed air of menace. Good to have you back Liam, we’ve missed ya!

The Face Off EP drops April 15 on Kapsize on vinyl and digital.
