Whether remixing Purity Ring, Hundred Waters, or Touché, we never know quite what to expect from Alfred ‘Daedelus’ Darlington.

Here’s the latest example of his unpredictability. ‘Meager Leavings’ is right in Sister Crayon’s wheelhouse: moody and downtempo, with an ambient sheen and a subdued groove. For his remix, Daedelus turns fragments of synth swell and Terra Lopez’s singing into an uneasy yet propulsive construction, as if accidental record-skipping resulted in something to dance to.
