The Flaming Lips are weeks away from releasing new LP The Terrorand their latest video sees them fulfil that album title’s promise in a big way.

The clip for the Bon Iver-assisted ‘Ashes In The Air’ features a baby with a goatee intoning the words “you and me, we’re so fucked up”; two Amazons tending to a brutalised cadaver; an astronaut who takes his fashion cues from The Residents; and a pay-off that’s, well – in the wake of the whole horse meat scandal, you don’t want to think about it too much.

The Terror is due on April 16; sample an annotated stream of the LP here. The Flaming Lips will reissue 1997 album/headfuck Zaireeka on vinyl in honour of Record Store Day on April 20. The band and an assortment of friends are also currently working on a track-by-track cover of The Stone Roses’ self-titled debut album. [via Pitchfork]
