Disco doesn’t suck. 

‘Sweat’ is Jayson Kochan’s first outing under the Airport moniker, and although he cut his teeth as a member of Seattle psych-rockers Midday Veil he proves he can handle the dancefloor with a surprising ease. Kochan approaches disco with the same raw, analogue sense of noisy fusion we’ve seen occur with techno over the last couple of years. Like Pete Swanson‘s deranged constructs, this is a corroded, detuned and slightly haphazard version of a well-loved sound, and while there are tropes left to help you identify that it actually is disco at all, there are precious few comparisons to Daft Punk‘s latest love letter to the 70s ‘Get Lucky‘.
