Halfway into their maiden year, Fabric’s label venture Houndstooth have announced details of HTH009.

Co-ordinated by Rob Booth of Electronic Explorations, Houndstooth has thrown its lot behind artists experimenting with darker strains of house, techno and drum’n’bass. Thus far, we’ve been furnished with an opening salvo from Objekt cohort and FACT mixer Call Super; King Cannibal side project House Of Black Lanterns released the varied Kill The Lights full-length; Dave Clarke’s went covert with the brooding _Unsubscribe_ project;  and new material has also dropped from ∆kkord. We’ve got a hunch the best is yet to come: excellent beatmaker and A Future Without boss Throwing Snow has signed to the label.

The next Houndstooth release will arrive courtesy of Alec ‘Al Tourettes’ Story, trading under the sort-of-eponymous alias Second Storey. Under his more famous moniker, Story has put out electro-leaning releases on Baselogic, Sneaker Social Club and Appleblim’s Apple Pips label. The ‘Blim connection runs deep, with the pair also collaborating on Aus Music back in 2010. The Margosa Heights EP will bundle four new tracks, and show Story on grander, more cinematic form than seasoned listeners might be used to.

Margosa Heights will arrive on 12″  on June 24, with a digital edition to follow on July 1. [via Juno Plus]
