Monochrome indie trio The xx have been given the remix treatment by rising star Maya Jane Coles.

The UK house producer has reimagined ‘Fiction’, from The xx’s 2012 album Coexist, in her typically soft and evocative style, piecing together a mellow groove that leaves plenty of space for Oliver Sim’s hushed vocals.

The DJ and producer is gearing up to release her debut album Comfort on her own I/AM/ME label this summer, a collection of 12 tracks including two that feature vocals from Coles herself.

The xx also have a busy summer ahead, presenting the first of their series of mini-festivals at London’s Hatfield House on June 22. Night + Day will feature performances from pals of the band including Mount Kimbie, Kindness, Solange and Poliça. FACT recently spoke to Jamie xx about the thinking behind the events.
