That highly anticipated Nine Inch Nails comeback track? It’s here.

‘Come Back Haunted’ is the band’s first single since 2008’s ‘Discipline’, and, by Reznor standards, is commendably lithe and funky. KROQ, who were originally expected to premiere the track (it looks like Seattle’s The End 107.7 got there first), described it as “in line with the first two albums…I wouldn’t say that it’s dance-y, but it does have a great beat, a groove.”

As Pitchfork report, Renzor has also dropped further details of Nine Inch Nails’ surprise new album. The record will drop on September 3 through Columbia Records. The title? Hesitation Marks. As reported, the record will feature King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew, Telefon Tel Aviv’s Josh Eustis, and former NIN touring partners Robin Finck, Alessandro Cortini, and Ilan Rubin. Reznor describes the album as “frankly fucking great”, which, y’know, augurs well.

Finally, the band has announced a huge US tour, with a clutch of October and November dates in addition to a string of previously announced festival shows. Peep below for dates (which, it should be noted, Belew will not be on board for). Explosions In The Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor will support.

For those seeking a more conventional survey, Reznor has also upped a chronological collection of all of the band’s singles since 1989 onto Soundcloud; head here to listen.
