Stephen O' Malley, Keiji Haino and Oren Ambarchi project Nazoranai to make UK live debut in London

July 11 will see avant-garde trio Nazoranai make their UK debut at London’s The Scala.

Nazoranai unites three august operators working somewhere between doom, noise and power electronics: bassist Stephen O’ Malley, especially notable for his work with heavy-as-lead drone duo Sunn O))); peripatetic psych-cadet and Fushitsusha leader Keiji Haino; and experimental guitarist Oren Ambarchi. Formed in 2011, the group released a self-titled LP on Ideologic Organ/Editions Mego the following year, setting Haino’s outré contributions over chugging grooves. Live shows are as rare as hen’s teeth; booking early is advised.

Support comes courtesy of Flower Corsano Duo, featuring Sunburned Hand Of The Man cohort (and recent Bill Orcutt collaborator) Chris Corsano working with Vibracathedral Orchestra’s Mick Flower. Tickets and further details about the night, curated by Miles Of Smiles, are available here.
