The first wave of artists has finally been announced for multi-venue Bristol festival Simple Things.

Running in various venues across Bristol on Saturday October 12, Simple Things is a festival with the cutting-edge in mind, which is no-doubt why they picked innovative genre-benders Moderat to headline the whole thing. Elsewhere Berlin-based peddler of elegant electronics Pantha Du Prince will be bringing his shimmering textures to Bristol for the first time, and Jon Hopkins will be no doubt offering a closer look into his dreamy new LP Immunity. For fans of pristine abstract techno, Dopplereffekt (who FACT recently ran a primer on) will be dropping a rare set, as will the excellent Motor City Drum Ensemble, while King Midas Sound will likely be treating festivalgoers to a taste of their patented “My Bloody Valentine in dub” stylings.

It’s not all electronics either, thrashy LA punkers No Age will be dropping in, as will legendary rap producer DJ Jazzy Jeff, and there are still over forty acts to be announced.
