There’ll never be another group quite like the Ragga Twins.

The duo of Flinty Badman and Deman Rockers made the transition from reggae soundsystems to acid house and hardcore parties – where, unknown to them, they were already revered – in the late ’80s, eventually releasing the classic album Reggae Owes Me Money for the Shut Up and Dance label in 1991. The pair are still going today, and this Saturday July 27, they’ll perform with fellow old school icons Kenny Ken, Billy Bunter and Marvellous Cain at Yardrock, an event at London’s Big Chill House.

Ahead of that show – of which more details here – FACT’s Joe Muggs sat down with the pair to talk about their unlikely movement to dance music, the drug debate of late ’80s / early ‘9os Britain and more. Honestly, it’s unmissable.

Watch out for part two tomorrow – and watch the excellent video flyer for Yardrock below.
