Music by Steve Reich, Arvo Pärt, Meredith Monk and more to feature in the collection.

ECM is to release a six CD, seven-hour-long box set of music featured in an exhibition about the label held in Munich last year, including work by numerous icons of avant-garde, jazz, classical and world music.

The exhibition, titled ECM – A Cultural Archaeology, emphasised the label’s link with other art forms, meaning the Selected Signs III-VIII box set also includes work by Georgian film composer Andrey Dergachev and Greek theatre and film composer Eleni Karaindrou, among others.

Other artists featured include Gidon Kremer and Keith Jarrett, Paul Bley, Evan Parker, Barre Phillips, Gary Peacock and Wadada Leo Smith – head to ECM for the full tracklist.

Last year Ricardo Villalobos and Max Lodebauer delivered an unusual take on the label’s back catalogue with the double disc remix compilation Re:ECM.
