Hark: L.I.E.S and Crème Organisation graduate William Burnett has two new mini-albums in the pipeline.

Between his stewardship of the ace W.T. Records label (2013 triumphs: Tagwell Woods’ self-titled 12″ and Sabre’s Nightdrive To Bolland), his superlative Newtown Radio show and his impressive production history as Willie Burns, Burnett’s established himself as something of an underground hero in recent years. He’s also not minded to put his feet up: solo and collaborative releases are already due this year on Sex Lies Magnetic Tape, The Trilogy Tapes, and Rush Hour.

February saw Burnett inaugurate the Black Deer moniker, issuing the great Trail Of Tears EP on Rush Hour’s venturesome No ‘Label’ imprint. The EP saw Burnett on particularly trippy form, trading his frowzy house/techno for swampy dub and blunted nu-disco.

As Resident Advisor reportBurnett has two new Black Deer mini-albums in the offing. London label Emotional Response – previously behind releases from Luke Wyatt and Timothy J. Fairplay  – will put out a new six-track collection, The Last Tortuga, in October. The second release, S/T, will drop on Peak Oil in November, and also promises six new tracks from the producer.

The Last Tortuga will drop on October 7. S/T will follow on November 12. Trail Of Tears track is available to stream below.
