Axel Willner‘s follow-up to 2011’s outstanding Looping State of Mind is getting closer, and the Swedish techno explorer has now shared the title track ‘Cupid’s Head’.

The album is his first to be recorded entirely using ‘real’ gear – no computers in sight kids – and you can certainly hear that in ‘Cupid’s Head’s shimmering textures and brittle beatbox beats. Thankfully Willner hasn’t lost the unmistakable charm of his earlier material though, and those who fell in love with ‘Over The Ice’ all those years ago will be pleased to know there’s a similar attention to looping samples and slowly-building drones.

Take a listen over at Soundcloud.

Cupid’s Head will be released on September 30 via Kompakt.
