Stream the debut album from Nicolas Jaar's Darkside project

Sink into the first full transmission from Nicolas Jaar’s atmospheric side project, Darkside.

Lest we forget, Jaar and his touring guitarist Dave Harrington have already released an album of sorts this year, uploading a full-length remix version of Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories under the Daftside moniker. Psychic, however, takes the honour of being their first gimmick-free album. In keeping with 2011’s Darkside EP, Psychic is a saturnine collection of glowering post-rock and downbeat electronica. The eight-track record promises to navigate “rock’s cosmic outer edges” with nods to house and techno – a fair synopsis, on first listen.

The pair are streaming the album in full over at the Other People, Jaar’s new subscription-only “serial label”. Subscribers to the website will also be able to download the album right now, a week before its official release date. Head here to stream/cop the record.

Psychic will be released on October 8 via Other People/Matador.
