Hard to admit for an office staffed with pre-’89ers, but: there’s a lot of young talent out there at present.

As part of the Frieze Art Fair festivities, Serpentine Galleries are to toast the successes of a number of under-25s making waves in their respective disciplines. For the eighth year running, the 89plus Marathon will feature a string of performances, talks and events throwing a spotlight on these young trailblazers’ achievements. Contributors are set to include Generation X author Douglas Coupland and LulzSec/Anonymous member Jake Davis, plus a number of those aforementioned up-and-comers.

The guest we’re most excited about, however, is inventive rapper/producer Le1f. The NY breakout star will be appearing on Saturday October 19, no doubt bringing material from his excellent recent Tree House mixtpae. Expect pneumatic electro, off-kilter hip-hop and untempered flamboyance from his set.

Other names on the bill include acclaimed artist Felix Melia and tipped filmmaker Halil Altindere; head here for tickets and further information. Take note: the event will be the first major public event to take place in the stunning new Serpentine Sackler Gallery, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects.
