Kanye West and Jimmy Kimmel bury the hatchet live on TV.

Full context: late last month, Kimmel broadcast a slightly iffy sketch featuring child actors re-enacting West’s bombastic interview with Zane Lowe. West didn’t take kindly to the video, taking Kimmel to task on Twitter in substantially more amusing fashion.

Last night, West appeared on Kimmel’s show to talk through the very mild controversy, discussing how celebrities aren’t treated with due compassion and claiming that he’s “never done a publicity stunt in my life”. As ever, there’s a dollop of hubris (“For me, I’m a creative genius”, etc.) and plenty of chat about clothes, too. Click below to watch the (largely) convivial chat.

Everyone’s noses back in joint, then? Not quite: Arctic Monkeys were forced to cancel their scheduled performance on the show after West’s interview substantially over-ran.

In related news, an old Late Registration track has made it into the upper echelons of the Billboard charts for the first time, almost a decade after its release. After this video of an employee resigning her job by dancing to ‘Gone’ in the office, the track has now charted at #18 in the States. [via Hypetrak]

Let’s just hope West hasn’t seen that better-than-it-should-be remix of the interview.
