Premiere: Kendrick Lamar-collaborator JMSN reveals windswept 'The One'

The LA-based singer and multi-instrumentalist readies a new EP.

As JMSN (pronounced “Jameson”), Christian Berishaj throws his hat into the (increasingly crowded) alt-R&B ring. His debut album, †Priscilla†, is heavy with his vulnerable vocals and post-Weeknd haziness, and while the style may be over-done for some, his songwriting chops are apparent.

Along with appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, mA.A.d city and collaborating with Deniro Farrar and TDE’s Ab-Soul, JMSN is set to release the Pllaje EP, due out on November 5 on his own White Room Records.

While lead single ‘Walk Away’ finds JMSN navigating through the fog, ‘The One’ stays true to the “rhythm” component of R&B for an inward-looking meditation that you can still sway to; something like this would have been a welcome addition to Justin Timberlake’s recent efforts. Stream ‘The One’ below; JMSN’s tour dates with Active Child follow.
