Stream the debut EP by soul singer Azekel, Circa

The Nigerian-born, London-based singer-songwriter draws upon a decade of memories for his debut effort.

When speaking to FACT, Azekel explained the genesis of Circa. “The songs were produced and created to induce the feeling of the actual memory,” he said. “I wanted to create a smooth journey through it all, so it all sounded nostalgic.”

Azekel names Sade, D’Angelo, and James Blake among his influences, and those inspirations are apparent across Circa, whether on the slow-burning ‘Official’, the galactic soul-funk of ‘In The Zone’, or standout song ‘No Ordinary Love’. Azekel collaborated with producers Youan, Blaksmif, Adelight and Vincent Perez on the EP.
