Premiere: stream Optimo's pumping piano house remix of Jeremy Deller's 'Voodoo Ray' cover

Earlier this year, our friends at The Vinyl Factory released acclaimed artist Jeremy Deller’s English Magic EP, featuring three covers of classic British songs, including A Guy Called Gerald’s ‘Voodoo Ray’.

That cover has now been remixed by JD Twitch of Scottish duo Optimo, who transforms the track into a bright-eyed piano house stomp, driven by jagged hi-hats. Featuring cover artwork by Deller based upon his iconic banners and pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl, a 12″ of the remix (featuring vocal, instrumental and bonus beats versions) will be released on November 11 through The Vinyl Factory and can be pre-ordered here. A digital version will follow on November 18.

A screen-printed edition of the single, limited to 150 copies hand-signed and numbered by Deller, will also be available to buy exclusively from vfeditions.com. You can read FACT’s recent interview with JD Twitch centered around his Autonomous Africa project here, and our recent catch-up with A Guy Called Gerald here.
