DC rapper Fat Trel signs to Maybach Music Group

Atlanta’s Tracy T also joins Rick Ross’ hip-hop behemoth.

Washington, DC’s leading street rap specialist Fat Trel is the latest signing to Maybach Music Group, the record label home to the likes of Wale, Meek Mill, Stalley and Rockie Fresh as well as big bawse Rick Ross.

Earlier this year Trel released his SDMG mixtape (an acronym of Sex Drugs Money & Guns), an impressive introduction to the Slutty Boyz rapper which included FACT Singles Club pick ‘Niggaz Dying’. The 21-track effort featured guest verses from ratchet rapper YG and fellow DC reps Wale and Black Cobain, while production was mostly handled by 19-year-old Canadian upstart JGramm Beats, with FACT faves Young Chop, Lee Bannon, Harry Fraud, and DJ Mustard also contributing beats.

MMG made the announcement via Twitter, also revealing that Atlanta rapper Tracy T had joined the label’s books. [via AHH]
