Flagship Constellation collective Thee Silver Mt. Zion have revealed their new album, and it’s predictably controversial.

Entitled Fuck Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything, the album finds the band operating under the Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra tag and firmly rejecting the “quaint” post-rock tag they have always maintained an opposition to. Instead, Efrim Menuck, Thierry Amar and Sophie Trudeau blend hardcore, metal and garage rock and melt it into a long-form chatter of drones, tones and occasionally proper songs.

We can hear exactly what that means on ‘Austerity Blues’ (below), and clocking in at seven minutes it’s hard to believe that it’s merely a snippet of the full-length track. Majestic and expectedly dark, it’s a tantalizing taste of an album that’s sure to appeal to far more than just the Godspeed You! Black Emperor-fixated few.

The band will also be touring Europe in the new year, and you can see the full list of dates below.
