Swans' Michael Gira announces solo tour

See the seer.

Swans were good to Europe in 2013, taking their monumental The Seer LP all over the continent this Summer. In a similar spirit, band mastermind Michael Gira has confirmed a new solo tour, set to wend its way across Europe in March 2014. The jaunt will see Gira performing a mixed bag of material, including Swans tracks, Angels of Light material and solo work.

The tour includes stop-offs in Russia, Germany, Spain and Scandinavia, amongst other destinations. A solitary UK date will take place at Hackney’s Church of St. John on March 12.

If remarks from Gira earlier this year still hold good, we can expect a new Swans album in 2014, part-funded by recent live LP Not Here / Not Now. By way of preparation, check out FACT’s 2012 interview with the man himself.
