In the aftermath of Deviation’s October event at XOYO, FACT TV caught up with Night Slugs‘ co-founder Bok Bok and Kelela, whose Cut 4 Me mixtape has given a voice to the brand of club music that Night Slugs and their sister label Fade to Mind have been pushing for several years now.

As Bok Bok – who produced two tracks on Cut 4 Me – explains in this interview, he’d always wanted a female voice on his club productions, but it wasn’t until Kelela that the right person came along. Elsewhere, the pair talk about the genesis of the mixtape, why it works so well (you can read FACT’s glowing review here), what’s to come in the future and more.

Deviation’s next event at XOYO takes place on December 20, with Benji B spinning all night downstairs and Toddla T all night upstairs. For more on that, head here, and read FACT’s introductory interview with Kelela here.
